I’m not going to make it to 1,000 words tonight. This breaks my five day streak, but also gives me some perspective. The purpose of the challenge is to jumpstart my daily writing practice again. 1,000 words is arbitrary. What really matters is that I write every day and share it with you. So tonight, you won't get 1,000 words but you'll get a couple thoughts.
We've had a leak in our shower that's been really hard to locate. If you can't locate it, you can't fix it, and we've been doing everything we can to avoid redoing the entire shower. We made significant progress today and think we might have fixed the leak. That brings me to the couple thoughts I wanted to share.
Accept help when it's offered.
There's a difference between handouts and genuine assistance from people that know more than you do. Desiring to solve your own problems is a good, but you don't know everything. Let someone else bless you.
Know when to save “junk."
We've been able to fix two problems in the last month with random items that grandaddy had been keeping "just in case." Both times, his exact words have been, "your grandmother thinks I should have thrown this away long ago, but this is why I didn't."
You never know when you'll need it.
